What does BMW car stands for B.M.W.?

Originally it stood for Bavarian Manure Werks(works) and yes they hauled sh*t, then in the late 1880's to the early 1900's they started making cars also and changed the name to Bavarian Motor Werks. Plus the reason they named it Bavarian is because of the region of Germany the headquarters is in and where they started.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Bavaria is the region and state in Germany where BMW's headquarters are located (BMW is located in Munich, which is the capital of Bavaria).

The Aktiengesellschaft stated in a previous answer is not part of the answer. It is abbreviated as AG in Germany, and denotes the type of company, like Inc. in the U.S.
