This is very simple, check the plastic box next to the battery it has a fusible link on the positive side cable of the battery.

That cable connector is broken and when the car rattles some how it does not make contact and that's when the car dyes.

Check it out and let me know.

if you cant find it I'll send you a picture of it.

sincerely Nisho

A relay is stuck or your ignition switch is bad.
Is your car a e39?

I think your problem may be the heater fan resister.

Have seen this in other models not as many in the e39s as the e46s which are common.

about $280 aus from a dealer.
The next time you post a query here, please mention the year of manufacture.

But regarding your car's problem, it is most probably a bad

resistor pack (aka final stage switch). It can be found on the far end of the right side of the center console (left side knee

area of the front passenger). The trim/cover has to be removed to be able to replace it.

Other than that, it can only be a bad AC control module/switch

or a short somewhere in the wires of the AC.
