2003 BMW 325i engine swap with an 04 m3 engine?

I want to know if a m3 engine would fit in an 325i and also any other parts i would probably need too.

Yes the S54 M3 engine will 'fit' into a 325i. However, there are drastic differences in the wiring and management of your M54 engine and the S54. For instance, the M3 has 6 individually controlled electronic throttle butterflies on each cylinder, and the M54 has only one on the intake manifold. Furthermore, you would need the DME (Digital Motor Electronics) computer from an M3, access to a MODIC or DIS+ dealership computer to code the computer to your car and a completely new wiring harness if you ever wanted to hear the engine run. The mod would be very expensive and very difficult to perform.

Its cheaper to buy a M3 and to do an engine swap. You need about $10k on top of the cost of the engine.
