What Bmw Model do you PREFER?bmw

5 series is boss. the new X6 is also interesting ...
7 series. with a V12
E34
If I were going to buy a new BMW, it would be an R1200GS

http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/bikes/bike...
x6
i love:

x5 for an suv

and 325i for a sedan
The new M3 with a V8
Bmw 3 series
it would be M3 GTR,or any model by Hamann, 3 series are OK..

for SUV, X5 is good, but it's hard if it compare with Range Rover or Audi Q7 cuz they have air suspension and Gradient Release Control.why don't X5 has similar feature like series 7 have? and add the abilty for light offroad? maybe X6 can answer that question!!
M3
E30 ...325i and M3 for every day.

As the German Professor says pointing at the car..."ziss one...ziss is all you need. I go now! Aufweitesane"

For style points on a Friday night...an 80's 6 series...
M series.
2001 740i Sport. Probably the only full-sized car that looks dynamite in bright red. AND they sold it with a manual tranny in Europe. Prettiest BMW ever in my opinion. I also love the old 2002 and first-gen 3 Series. Those body styles are simply classic.
The only BMW I would ever buy is the M3 if I was very rich and already owned a Porsche Cayman S and Audi RS4.
650i convertible for a car

X5 4.8i for an SUV
Bmw335i coupe...its so powerful... M3(e92) and the M6!
I love BMW, but the Bangle designs look like a bad drug trip I took in the 80's.

I'm sure they'll get their game back...
The 1980s 6-series. Coolest cars ever.
E36, the 98 328is, to be specific...

My bmw 316i coupe unlocks itself, it has central locking but not remote, any ideas??

bad central locking switch..or loose wire...should be easy fix at dealer or trusted mechanic...easy if not cheap...i had loose wire in door..cost 50 dollars and 20 minuits..

1998 BMW 540i?

If I have the car chipped, what difference can that make to the performance, are there other perfomance options

1998 BMW 540i?antivirus programs

This site has extensive descriptions and photos of a heavily modified 540i.

1998 BMW 540i?computer protection

Normally, it allow you to push your car beyond 140mph. As for performance, the chip isn't flexible enough to configure your component. So it ASSUMES that you have exhaust, intake, and all other systems modified. If not, it will actually hurt your engine performance. Because of the engine enhancement, you also need high quality fuel (93+)
That depends on what kind of chip your going to install. They have chips to increase timming, change the fuel ratio, increase air intake, raise the idle, control injecter timming. The problem with chiping is if you have emission standards in your state you will have to put the factory chip back in before you go for testing.

Other performance options which are more expensive is to add an inner cooler and install a turbo if they are available by BMW or a performance shop. You can type in turbos for BMW and see what you come up with on the internet.

Other options are to get a performance shift kit for your trans. and a performance tourque converter. But all of this is expensive and you will have to get some one well experienced in the transmission high performance field.

Another cheeper way is get low profile tires

which would add about another 10 horse power.

Sincerely yours,

Fred M. Hunter

Why BMW motorcycle stoped building the R1200C series bikes?

The R1200C cruiser style bike was never a big commercial success, and most people actually thought it was kind of an ugly motorcycle. I guess the factory finally decided they weren't selling enough of them to continue the line.

The R1200 engine and chassis is still in production in more traditional (for BMW) sport bike and dual-sport styles, but not as a cruiser.

A friend that works at a BMW shop told me the factory couldn't justify (financially) keeping the 1200C in the line up with the introduction of other and newer models. Also the bike didn't fit the corporate image they are currently embracing.

1999 BMW 528i Business Radio. CD problem.?

Unit factory fitted - 6 CD changer in boot. All other functions OK . Displays "CD ERROR" when CD selected. Tried every setup control in the handbook but no success. Any ideas?

Your CD changer is malfunctioning. Usually it's mechanical. If you know a friend who's handy with electronics, he can look at it for you and probably figure out what's really wrong.

Check for simple things like cable connection behind the changer. And observe the CD chager's operation when you insert the CD magazine.... listen out for anything abnormal... like jamming, gear grinding noise...etc.

I had this problem and I was advised to disconnect the power supply - there is a connector in the wire under the CD changer. Wait about 5 seconds then reconnect. It worked for me

A bmw e32, 34 or e36...which one!!!?

i have the option to buy an e36 (3 SERIES) manual from 1994 round about

an e34 (5 series) from 1990 manual

or an e32 (7 series) from around 88-90

which one should i buy considering fuel costs, dont want anything too powerful, possible availability of spare parts in the future and most important is reliabality!

i have an e30 318i at the moment but its awefully basic. i know 3 series's are and 5 series is better and so on but i dont know which one to buy as thre all around the same price

A bmw e32, 34 or e36...which one!!!?antivirus software

Each has its own set of quirks. E36s, for instance, tend to have faults in their climate controls and some head cracking issues (BMW messed around with magnesium alloys). Most BMWs also have water pump issues (plastic vs. stainless vs. different plastic) from time to time.

Personally I'd go for an E36, as parts are more readily available. E30s are easier to work on if you're so inclined.

As far as a choice between a 3 and 5 series, there is a huge difference in feel. 3 series are more driver-centric and offer a more connected, sports coupe feel. 5 series are definitely a sedan-ish feel - roomier, less connected, less fun to toss around. Apples and Oranges.

A bmw e32, 34 or e36...which one!!!?computer virus

34
I've owned 4 BMW's. I have a 34 now... a 95 525 but with an automatic. I believe the resale value of the automatic is higher than the stick shift, but stick are sportier. The cooling system is a pain in the 34's. It's got issues with air in the cooling system and it's tough to get it bled properly.
newer the better. e36. don't get old. just have alot of problems and you pay way to much in the end.

e46 would be better :)
