New Car and Driver magazine on newstands now... BMW M3 coming 2008, and will cost $55,000 base. Report It

the best answer isn't even true!?!?!? Report It

Good question! ...and how fast could it be? Wow!

The current 335 twin turbo goes for $40,000, and is faster than the previous 3 Series M used to be, so I read that there was no need for an M at this time. From what I've read, there is no plan to have one come out before 2008.
Surprisingly cheap at somewhere between 拢48-50K.

Pure class, get a white one!
BMW has already released the UK pricing. The M3 is going to start at 拢50,625 in the UK. The Audi RS4, the nearest rival lists at 拢50,930. Leftlane news estimates the US M3 will cost from $60,000-$65,000, after evaluating the conversion rate of several different models offered by BMW, and the RS4.

I have heard many different release dates. The BMW website names the new M3 as the "M3 Coupe 2007", which suggest the date sometime in 2007.

The new BMW M3 is scheduled to come out in Europe in summer 2007 according to source 1 (below). Leftlane news says the M3 will come out mid 2008 as a 09 model in North America, as does Edmunds' Inside Line. Nevertheless, BMW has already released an minisite for the M3 in their International site (bmw.com-just click on the M icon on top, and choose the M3 Coupe 2007). Their South Africa site has a mini "build your own" style visualizer. Click car configurator, choose the M coupe, and choose M3 in the next screen.

More news: the M3 is supposed to offer a dual-clutch transmission like VW's, called the M DCT.
