Is the BMW e30 a good car, where and , how do you get one.?

I think it is fair to say that when it was built, yes, it was a good car. It can still be a good car today if it has been well looked after and regularly maintained. As time passes however, this level of care tends to come from true enthusiasts who rarely sell their passions. Those available on the open market may have problems.

I would suggest you look at each one you find on a case to case basis. How well was it maintained, running condition etc. Being a BMW you will be coming from a good foundation. Have a garage that knows BMWs check it out, (not necessarily BMW themselves, it will have been a long time since they worked on an e30, bulk of their work is services on warranty cars i.e. recent models)

Same applies if you want one to restore, they come up very well to TLC. However, as they age you will find yourself replacing parts that have simply come to the end of their working life.

Check out some of the enthusiaists sites, they will help you make your decision and is a good place to locate cars that have been looked after. Enthusiasts always prefer to sell and buy with each other.
