im looking for a 2004 m3 but i can only find manuals. is there an m3 with automatic transmission? i dont know hwo to drive a manual

the real M3 BMW does not come with AUTOMATIC transmission what u see on the market are regular bmw with m3 package , don`t be fooled by the adds the only one that i know it has the SMG but all i can say is this the SMG one is slower then manual version

Learn how to drive a stick or get a pontiac. BMW sticks are easy. And they are a lot more enjoyable. Be a purest - drive the most exciting sport sedan/coup ever made the way it was designed to be driven - with a stick.

There is no m3 with automatic but you can find one thats tiptronic which can operate just as the common type of automatic transmission, but also allows you to override the automatic mode by moving the shift lever. There is no clutch. The m3 is a great car and I'm looking for one my self (currently i have a g35 coupe). This is just an opinion but if I was you I would buy one with a manual transmission. It will take you less than a week to learn how to drive one. The m3 is a great performance vehicle and if you want to get that full satisfaction driving it i suggest you buy one thats manual. Also manual transmissions last longer and the car cost less. Good luck
The E46 M3 which was made from 2001 till 2007 came with either a 6 speed manual, or a 6 speed SMG. The SMG (sequential manual gearbox) is a manually controlled STANDARD transmission, you have paddle shifters on the steering wheel, OR YOU CAN SHIFT WITH THE LEVER ON THE CONSOLE you could also put it on fully automatic mode.
