My BMW has flat battery. One thing noticed before this was an audible ticktock from speakers when ign

The car is a 330i se tourer. Apart from the annoying tick tock, like an indicator signal, coming through the speakers when the ignition is off and keys removed, the screen on the business CD player has been playing up. I have bought a new battery but believe there is a drain on this. Any ideas welcome.

Disconnect the CD player. - remove its fuse for example.

See if the fault disappears.

If you are feeling brave, then disconnect the battery and add an Ammeter (DMM set to A) in series with the live battery terminal and Live battery lead. Reconnect the Earth cable. See how much current is drawn (CD disconnected and then CD Connected)

A current draw test should be done on your car to confirm abnormal current draw after 16 minutes of the car being turned off and locked. Normal draw should be approximately 45 milliamps.

A simple test based on your observation that the Business CD radio acts up is to disconnect the radio and see if your battery still drains. If it does not, then you have found the culprit.
